Over 30 years ago, gallery artist Elaine Hanowell was commissioned by restaurateur and chef Tom Douglas to create custom lighted fish sculpture for the new restaurant, Dahlia Lounge. As the restaurant itself became an iconic classic of Pacific Northwest cuisine, Hanowell's fish also became a signature style of the restaurant and the artist. In 2016, Dahlia Lounge refreshed their interiors as part of their 30th anniversary celebration, and Hanowell was commissioned to create ten new lighted fish for the update. As part of the celebration, Hanowell created the new Salmon style lamp in honor of Tom Douglas and the restaurant's vision, which is now available at ArtXchange Gallery alongside her Koi, Perch, Catfish and Bass shapes.
