Artist: Yang Chun Hua Yang Chun Hua was born into an artistic family in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province in 1953. In the 1940s, her father, Yang Han, began working as a print artist. Her mother was a graduate of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. In 1973, Yang Chun Hua enrolled in the Printmaking department at Nanjing Arts Institute, the only woman in her class. Yang Chun Hua works as both a painter and a printmaker. Her lines are elegant and strong. The influence of western color-mixing appears in her rich tones, which are unique and nontraditional for Chinese painting. She is currently professor of Print Arts at Nanjing Arts Institute.
