"These images are from a series inspired by a dream of a group of numinous people in a futuristic city. Although the work isn't a direct representation of what was in the dream, what I hope comes across is the feeling that the dream engendered, where differences and ordinariness are subdued by the compassion that radiates through each countenance. To create these paintings is my way of loving this dream experience into reality, and stands as a reminder that we all are miracles, and our compassion holds for us amazing power individually and as a world community.

As I work on these pieces, I am drawn in by the nuances of each individual face, engrossed by a certain chin indentation, the hollow of an ear canal, the way an almost imperceptible shift of an eyelid or shadow on a lip can transform the expression. I find in each face a heart and in each heart a light that moves us forward and into the future."
