"Bird Alive Bird Dead. A single image divided in two.

Two beings, two states, two extremes. It is a diptych but a single picture plane with a single line separating everything from nothing.

The line breaks.

This piece is about the co-existence of extreme opposites. Mutually exclusive states become connected by something that denies their opposition. There is an attachment that makes the separation impossible. That attachment, the break in the line that claims to divide is what I focus on in my work."
